{"id":1917,"date":"2024-12-20T13:27:25","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T13:27:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=1917"},"modified":"2024-12-20T13:27:27","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T13:27:27","slug":"preserving-roots-all-bugun-khowa-society-abks-re-unveils-buguns-diorama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=1917","title":{"rendered":"Preserving Roots: All Bugun Khowa Society (ABKS) Re-unveils \u201cBugun\u2019s Diorama"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ITANAGAR, Dec 20: In a simple yet impressive ceremony, the Chairman of All Bugun Khowa Society (ABKS), Yangzin Murphew, and Director (I\/c) Dept of Research Bomgam Kamduk&nbsp; re-unveiled the refined \u201cBugun\u2019s Diorama held at the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum on Friday.\u201d The event marked a significant milestone in preserving and promoting the heritage of the Bugun community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his address, Murphew expressed heartfelt gratitude to the family of Late Shri RC Bodoi and Editor of Arunachal Today, Sangge Droma, for initiating the refinement project. \u201cThe previous diorama required rectifications, particularly in the depiction of the Bugun community&#8217;s traditional clothes and ornaments. This initiative, led by Late R.C. Bodoi\u2019s family and supported by journalist Sangge Droma, has ensured that the Diorama accurately represents our rich cultural heritage,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Murphew highlighted the significance of the occasion, noting that the Bugun tribe, one of the oldest recognized tribes in Arunachal Pradesh, has a population of approximately 3,000, predominantly residing in the West Kameng district. \u201cThis is a one of the historic day for us, as it provides an opportunity for the wider public to learn about our community and its unique traditions,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>WATCH VIDEO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Preserving Roots: All Bugun Khowa Society (Abks) Re-Unveils \u201cBugun\u2019s Diorama at State Museum\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0h4eJjGo_nk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the event, Sangge Droma shared the inspiration behind the project. \u201cDuring a recent visit to the State Museum, I noticed the need for rectifications in the Bugun Diorama. My late father had shared detailed knowledge about our traditional attire, and so with the support from ABKS and the Research Department, we worked on making these changes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy Director of the Research Department, Tage Tabin, commended ABKS and Sangge Droma for their efforts. \u201cPreserving our traditions and culture is vital. Initiatives like these not only ensure accurate representation but also inspire others to contribute.
