{"id":2003,"date":"2024-12-27T16:16:33","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T16:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=2003"},"modified":"2024-12-27T16:16:35","modified_gmt":"2024-12-27T16:16:35","slug":"arunachal-pradesh-freedom-of-religion-act-1978-will-soon-implement-in-state-says-cm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=2003","title":{"rendered":"Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 1978 Will Soon Implement In State Says CM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ITANAGAR, Dec 27: &nbsp;<\/strong>Chief Minister Pema Khandu today informed that the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 1978 \u2013 dormant as of date &#8211; will soon have its rules framed and implemented in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) here this morning at I G Park, Khandu expressed gratitude to the first Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, P K Thungon, during whose government, the legislation was passed in the Assembly in 1978 that envisions \u2018<em>to provide for prohibition of conversion from one religious faith to any other religious faith by use of force or inducement or by fraudulent means and for matters connected therewith<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khandu revealed that the Act was lying dormant so far but with a recent directive from the Gauhati High Court, the state government is bound to frame its rules for execution and implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2006\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-2048x1366.jpeg 2048w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Image-2024-12-27-at-14.09.24-1-600x400.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe process of framing the rules is underway and soon we will have a proper structured Freedom of Religion Act in place,\u201d he said while adding that the development will play a significant role in preserving Arunachal\u2019s indigenous faith and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While asserting that \u2018faith\u2019 and \u2018culture\u2019 are faces of the same coin, he insisted that both cannot \u2018walk\u2019 separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Citing examples of several indigenous tribes and cultures vanishing from the face of the world, Khandu underscored the necessity to preserve the distinct culture and faith of Arunachal Pradesh. As the saying goes \u201cLoss of culture is loss of identity\u201d we have succeeded in retaining our culture and our identity stands tall among its peers across the world.
