Parshuram Kund,\/Wakro,Jan 14:<\/strong> Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated the annual Parshuram Kund Mela, a spiritual event known as the “Kumbh of the Northeast,” which draws pilgrims and devotees from across India and beyond. The mela, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, celebrates the profound spiritual significance of Parshuram Kund, a revered pilgrimage site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his inaugural address, DCM Chowna Mein extended warm Makar Sankranti greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and the nation. He welcomed the devotees and visitors, emphasizing the unity and devotion that define the event. \u201cIt is my privilege to partake in this occasion of faith, unity, and devotion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deputy Chief Minister participated in the Havan Puja led by revered Sadhus, offering prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity for Arunachal Pradesh and the country. He expressed his heartfelt wishes for the well-being of all, stating, \u201cI prayed for the prosperity and happiness of the people of Arunachal and the entire nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announcing a significant boost to the site\u2019s development, DCM Chowna Mein revealed a \u20b950 crore allocation for infrastructure enhancement under the riverfront development project. The initiative aims to transform Parshuram Kund into a world-class pilgrimage and cultural destination, enhancing its spiritual significance while boosting the region\u2019s tourism potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted the progress achieved under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD)<\/strong> scheme, which has led to infrastructural advancements at Parshuram Kund. Among the new developments, a recently inaugurated guest house now offers comfortable accommodations for the growing number of pilgrims, enriching their spiritual experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe government is committed to providing comprehensive facilities, including security, accommodation, food, and amenities, to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for every pilgrim,\u201d the Deputy Chief Minister affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of the volunteers’ efforts, DCM Chowna Mein distributed dress coats to the Parshuram Kund volunteers, applauding their dedication to serving pilgrims. He also announced plans to carry holy water from Parshuram Kund to the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, symbolizing spiritual unity and cultural interconnectedness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Namsai Zingnu Namchoom, Lohit ZPC Dasula Krisikro, SPs of Namsai and Lohit districts, ADCs from Chongkham and Wakro, various HoDs, and public leaders. Organizers reported a record number of devotees this year, with attendance doubling compared to previous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
