Itanagar, Feb 22<\/strong>: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister-In-Charge of Power & Hydropower, Chowna Mein, convened a crucial meeting with Small Hydropower Project Developers at his Secretariat Office today to review the status of various ongoing projects in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Mein reiterated the state government\u2019s commitment to developing small hydropower projects in line with the Atmanirbhar Arunachal<\/strong> initiative and India’s net-zero<\/strong> goals envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured developers of full government support in resolving challenges, including local issues, by engaging with the community. However, he urged developers to accelerate project execution and demonstrate commitment to ensuring timely commissioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commissioner (Hydropower) Sonam Chombay<\/strong> informed that 35 active small hydropower projects<\/strong> in the state have a cumulative allocated capacity of 570.75 MW<\/strong>, which is expected to attract an investment of \u20b97,000 crore<\/strong> and create employment opportunities for 7,500 local youths<\/strong>. Once operational, these projects will generate \u20b958.25 crore<\/strong> annually in revenue through free power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister felicitated two power developers<\/strong> for the timely commissioning of their projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • M\/S Devi Energies Pvt Ltd, Andhra Pradesh<\/strong> for Dikshi HEP (24 MW)<\/strong> in West Kameng District.<\/li>
  • M\/S Raajratna Energy Holdings Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad<\/strong> for Khangtang HEP (7.5 MW)<\/strong> in Tawang.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The meeting emphasized the strategic importance of small hydropower projects in boosting Arunachal Pradesh\u2019s clean energy sector while fostering economic growth and local employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the meeting, Advisor to DCM Anupam Tangu, Secretary to Power, R K Sharma, Additional PCCF, D Dalai, Chief Engineering (Hydropower), Atek Miyu, Chief Engineering (T & D), T K Tara, Director (LM), Mamta Riba and 19 Power Developers were also present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
