TANAGAR, Aug 3: <\/strong>The Mayor Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC),Tame Phassang, actively participated in a large-scale cleanliness campaign spearheaded by ASEZ (Save the Earth from A to Z), an international student volunteer group under the World Mission Society Church of God. The campaign stretched from IG Park to the Civil Secretariat Gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both local residents and student volunteers from South Korea, united by a common goal \u2014 to promote environmental stewardship and urban cleanliness. Volunteers diligently collected litter, segregated waste, and interacted with citizens to raise awareness on sustainable living and the need for climate-conscious behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Phassang expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, stating, \u201cI am truly overwhelmed by the commendable efforts of students from South Korea and Arunachal Pradesh who voluntarily came together for this campaign. These young minds are leading by example. If international volunteers can take the initiative to clean our streets, we, as citizens, must feel even more responsible for our own city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further urged residents to actively embrace Jan Bhagidari \u2014 people\u2019s participation \u2014 in maintaining the city\u2019s cleanliness and greenery. Emphasizing the long-term vision, the Mayor announced plans to officially collaborate with ASEZ and engage them in ongoing awareness campaigns on cleanliness and environmental sustainability across the IMC jurisdiction and the state at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
