{"id":3415,"date":"2025-08-04T15:01:32","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T15:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=3415"},"modified":"2025-08-04T15:01:38","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T15:01:38","slug":"cm-khandu-advocates-citizen-centric-governance-at-mission-karmayogi-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=3415","title":{"rendered":"CM Khandu Advocates Citizen-Centric Governance at Mission Karmayogi Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">ITANAGAR,Aug 4: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday emphasized the need for continuous capacity building of civil servants to align governance with the evolving aspirations of citizens in a rapidly changing world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Speaking at the inaugural session of a five-day lead trainers\u2019 workshop under Mission Karmayogi &#8211; India\u2019s ambitious civil services reform initiative &#8211; Khandu said that a future-ready, citizen-centric, and responsive bureaucracy must be equipped with the right mix of attitude, knowledge, and skills to meet 21st-century governance challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cMission Karmayogi is not just another training programme. It is a movement. A transformative journey to reorient our government employees to go beyond the routine, to act with empathy, to serve with humility, and to solve with creativity,\u201d the Chief Minister noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">He further underlined that this five-day capacity-building initiative isn\u2019t only about acquiring new skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cThis 5-day capacity-building initiative isn\u2019t only about acquiring new skills. It\u2019s about shifting mindsets. It\u2019s about doing things differently, and doing them with purpose. Because real change, the kind that lasts doesn\u2019t start in policy files or memos. It starts within us. In how we show up. In how we treat the people who walk through the doors of a public office,\u201d Khandu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Image-2025-08-04-at-15.41.56.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Image-2025-08-04-at-15.41.56.jpeg 700w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Image-2025-08-04-at-15.41.56-300x150.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The training workshop, jointly conducted for officials from Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura, is being organized by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Government of India, barely a month after Arunachal signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commission through its Administrative Training Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">While welcoming the initiative, Khandu made a strong pitch for culturally sensitive development, cautioning that neither tradition nor progress should come at the cost of the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cIf development erodes our cultural values, that\u2019s a tragedy. But if in the name of preserving culture, we reject development, that\u2019s equally tragic,\u201d the Chief Minister observed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Khandu also stressed the need to improve the happiness index alongside governance reforms. \u201cDevelopment must make people happier. He said Mission Karmayogi will further strengthen efforts to reach the \u201clast person in the queue.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">To truly achieve the mission\u2019s objectives, he advocated a shift from rule-based to role-based human resource management, modernization of training across all departments, digital upskilling, improved service delivery, and fostering a culture of transparency and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Calling Mission Karmayogi the world\u2019s largest capacity-building initiative, Khandu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership in launching such a transformative reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Addressing the batch of lead trainers, he urged them to fully engage with the training process and return to their districts ready to guide the next level of master-trainers. He also encouraged a citizen-first mindset, asking them to reflect on key questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cHow welcoming is your office? How responsive are you to public concerns? Are your staff respectful and accommodating?
