{"id":3553,"date":"2025-08-19T16:56:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T16:56:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=3553"},"modified":"2025-08-19T16:56:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T16:56:18","slug":"siang-upper-multipurpose-project-begging-village-extends-support-for-pre-feasibility-report-signs-mou-with-state-govt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/?p=3553","title":{"rendered":"Siang Upper Multipurpose Project: Begging Village Extends Support for Pre-Feasibility Report, signs MoU with state govt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ITANAGAR, Aug 19: In a landmark democratic move, residents of Begging Village in Siang District signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Government today pledging their support for preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) of the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP), declared a National Project by the Government of India in 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"721\" src=\"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1000035145-edited.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1000035145-edited.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1000035145-edited-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1000035145-edited-1024x577.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/arunachaltoday.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1000035145-edited-768x433.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The MOU was signed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, Minister (RD, PR etc.), OjingTasing, Advisor to the Minister, Department of Hydro Power Development, Ninong Ering, Chairperson, Siang Upper Multipurpose Development Committee, TamiyoTaga, Commissioner, Department of Hydro Power Development, Ankur Garg, the Deputy Commissioner, Siang District and other officials of the State Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By signing the MOU, more than 85% of the households of Begging village have pledged their irrevocable support for preparation of the PFR of the SUMP. He emphasized the strategic importance of PFR and assured the likely project affected families (PAFs) about provision of land and property compensation, and the preparation of aR&amp;R plan in consultation with PAFs.
