MIAO, Nov 22: Reacting to the incident of arson and vandalism of the Forest Office by miscreants in Namdapha National Park by the miscreants, a joint memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Changlang by All Changlang District Students’ Union (ACDSU), All Tangsa Students Union (ATSU) and the Miao Singpho Rama Hphung (MSRHP) demanding immediate action against the miscreants.
In its memorandum to the DC Changlang, unions claimed that the encroachers have crossed all limits of human decency and reached the 25th mile area which indicates that the encroachers are advancing in an unabated manner. The incident that took place on November 14th is highly condemnable and we believe that the miscreants could go to any extent to occupy the land if not stopped immediately.
In the joint meeting, all the three organizations resolved to press the administration for immediate eviction should be started within 10 days tar from the date of submission of the memorandum.
People involved and responsible for the November 14th arson and all encroachers must be Identified and put behind bars without any delay . All the structures built inside the park along 25 mile, 31 mile, 38 mile, 52 mile, 56 mile. 60 mile, 67 mile, 70 mile and 77 mile should be destroyed immediately and everyone related to encroachment may be pushed back to their original place of stay.
The political and administrative boundary line between Mao and Vijaynagar circle may be sketched at the earliest and make it public. In case the encroachers continue their stay within the park and the government fails to evict them, then we Tangsa Singpho communities too shall start shifting there, threatened the organizations.
Further, in its joint memorandum, organizations cautioned that if authorities fail to comply with the demands within 10 days from submission of the memorandum, they will compel to launch a democratic movement even call 24 hrs bandh in entire Changlang district.
This issue of encroachment has been going on for way too long now. Its high time the administration take some serious action against the greediness of these miscreants and set an example or else the place we call Namdapha National Park will soon become habitant for humans not the animals.
