Heartwarming! police help woman give birth in police station, named “Ana”

NIRJULI, Feb 19: Amid the two days of ‘Public bandh “  in the capital region called in ICR, on 17th February last at around 0730 hrs, Constable  Rohit Dada of Nirjuli Police Station was asked by a family of a pregnant woman to help them in reaching the hospital. The police personnel took the pregnant woman in his personal vehicle; however, the roads were blocked in various locations en-route to Naharlagun. Hence considering the condition of the woman and the law & order situation, she was brought to the Police station, Nirjuli, being the closest place to their position.

The lady police personnel of the POLICE STATION along with a wife of police personnel helped the woman deliver a baby girl inside one of the buildings of the POLICE STATION. The parents of the baby named her “Ana”, deriving the last three letters of the word ‘Thana’.

Bandh call affects and disrupts normal life to its maximum extent and poses threat to loss of life and property directly, Capital police strive to serve even at such difficult times, stated SP Jimmy Chiram in a press statement
