DIYUN, 19 April: MLA Diyun-Bordumsa Somlung Mossang today took stock of the Cyclone-affected areas and visited the relief camps at Diyun to assess the damages caused by the recent cyclone.
On April 14, 2022, severe storms, torrential rain, and strong winds caused huge damage to dwelling houses, uprooted trees, electric poles, and also damaged crops.
MLA visited the affected families of Innao Pather and Sompoi to assess the situation and extended immediate relief. He also took stock of the situation at Jyotsnapur and adjoining areas where around 12 families are temporarily sheltered in a government school building.
He also informed that a board comprising government officials was constituted to assess and verify the quantum of loss and damage due to the cyclone. And accordingly, the process of compensation shall follow.
Meanwhile, Mossang, announced phase-wise immediate disaster relief for the families rendered homeless due to the Cyclone. Further, he appealed to the denizens to stand together with the affected families and help them with whatever assistance to rebuild their homes.
