APSCW Participates in National-Level Interactive Meeting on Women’s Welfare at New Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 6: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW)   participated in a two-day interactive meeting organized by the National Commission for Women (NCW) with State Women Commissions, held at the NCW Office, New Delhi, on December 5 and 6, 2024.

The APSCW delegation was represented by Chairperson Smti Kenjum Pakam and Member Smti Komna Moidam, who engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration between the NCW and State Commissions.

The initial day focused on fostering cooperation in key areas such as police advocacy, research, capacity building, and establishing effective communication mechanisms. Discussions also emphasized shared priorities like gender sensitization, implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, enhancing complaint redressal mechanisms, and promoting women empowerment through skill development initiatives.

The second day featured in-depth deliberations on challenges faced by State Women Commissions at the grassroots level, including policy gaps and barriers to addressing women’s issues. Strategies for advancing women’s welfare through joint actions and improved policies were discussed. The session concluded with an insightful lecture on digital literacy, aimed at empowering women through technology.

The APSCW commended the NCW for organizing the meeting, emphasizing the importance of such platforms in aligning state and national efforts to uplift women and address their challenges comprehensively.
