PASIGHAT, Dec 23: Under ongoing Operation Dawn of Arunachal Police, a reliable information received regarding drug delivery within Pasighat town on Sunday last. Accordingly, a team was formed, led by Inspector Ige Lollen, ASI R. Lowang, L/ASI N. Bagra, HC T. Lama, HC T. Kampong, and L/Ct. P. Wangpan, under the supervision of Shri Ayup Boko APPS, SDPO Pasighat on directions of Shri Pankaj Lamba, IPS, SP East Siang.
A trap was laid to apprehend the person in coordination with the Anti-drugs team.Caught by surprise, the suspected peddler was apprehended and the individual was identified as Marshal Yomso, Balek Sibo, Pasighat.The team, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, conducted a personal search and found 2 syringes, a large orange-colour tobacco container containing an orange-white powdery substance suspected to be heroin weighing 14.72 grams and 1 transparent vial containing an orange-white powdery substance suspected to be heroin weighing 1.35 grams.
Upon further interrogation, Marshal Yomso (Accused) revealed that the suspected heroin was purchased from Smt. Nung Padung , vilage korang, Ruksin .Then he was instructed to contact Smt. Nung Padung to deliver more heroin at Gumin Nagar via phone.The team subsequently apprehended Smt. Nung Padung at Gumin Nagar, Pasighat.
When Smti. Nung Padung was searched, in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, the following items were found 1 pink-colour tobacco container containing an orange-white powdery substance suspected to be heroin, weighing 8.45 grams and mobile phone.
Upon further interrogation, she revealed that the suspected heroin was provided by Yatin Pajing Tali, Gumin Nagar, Pasighat for sell to Marshal Yomso.
A case has been registered at Pasighat Police Station under Psgt PS C/No 150/2024 U/S 21(b) of NDPS Act, 1995.
SP East Siang Sh. Pankaj Lamba, IPS appreciated the cooperation from Anti-Drug Squad Pasighat and also urged public and well-wishers to provide information about drug peddlers or users without hesitation to Police for realising the goal of drug free East Siang.
