ITANAGAR, Jan 23: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.) interacted with Goan Burahs, Ex-Servicemen and farmers of Jang of Tawang District, and Dirang of West Kameng District at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 23rd January 2025. The interaction was part of the first-ever spiritual tour for 22 senior villagers hailing from the remote Indo-Tibet border districts conducted by the 18 Sikh Light Infantry under the aegis of 4 Corps.
The Governor commended the Indian Army for organizing the tour. He said that such a splendid initiative would further strengthen the bonhomie between the armed forces and the local population. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit.
The Governor advised the villagers to share the positive experience of the tour, including the religious aspects with other villagers and uphold their religious vibrancy. He advised them to practice the good ideas they had learned during the tour with a positive attitude.

During his interaction, the Governor impressed upon the elders, particularly the Gaon Burahs, that with time, they have to assume new roles and responsibilities. He stressed that they have to promote education, better health, hygiene, cleanliness, and especially the waste disposal at the village level.
The Governor asked the village elders to promote, protect and conserve the natural environment for a safe future. He also advised on natural farming.

Coordinating officer Lt. Col. Om Prakash Prasad briefed the Governor about the tour, which started on 10th January 2025 under Operation Sadbhavana. The villagers visited Delhi, Dharamsala, and Gaya and are in Itanagar before returning to their village. The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
