Hayuliang, Jan 30: A major fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday at around 3:30 AM, completely gutting at least 15 shops in the Old Bazar area of Hayuliang, Anjaw district. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Though no casualties were reported, the fire led to property losses worth several lakhs. Local authorities and residents quickly responded to control the damage and provide assistance to the affected shop owners.
Local MLA Dasanglu Pul assured that all possible measures would be taken to support the victims. She also urged the community to stand in solidarity and extend help to those who lost their livelihoods in the tragic incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and further updates are awaited.
