NAHARLAGUN, April 15: In a significant breakthrough under the ongoing Operation Dawn 2.0, Papu Hills Police successfully cracked down on a drug trafficking network following a swift and coordinated operation in the Borum area.
Acting on credible intelligence, a team led by SDPO Naharlagun Shri Rishi Longdo, accompanied by Inspectors Torum Mai and Bobby Sumyan, along with Constables Sachin K. Rao, Sonam Namgey, and Pisa Tavak, conducted an operation under the supervision of SP Naharlagun Shri Mihin Gambo, IPS.
During the operation, the police intercepted and apprehended a suspect near Borum Bridge, later identified as Soriful Islam (41), a resident of Chandmari, Lakhimpur, Assam. Preliminary interrogation of the suspect led authorities to a crucial lead on the main supplier operating out of Doimukh.

Based on this input, the police team conducted a follow-up raid in Doimukh, resulting in the arrest of Techi Bharat (26), a resident of the area. A personal and residential search, conducted in strict adherence to legal procedures, led to the seizure of 39 vials of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 55.05 grams.
A case has been registered at Papu Hills Police Station under Case No. 48/25 U/S 21(b)/27 of the NDPS Act, and both accused are now in police custody.
SP Naharlagun Shri Mihin Gambo, IPS, commended the swift action and dedication of the police team, emphasizing the department’s steadfast commitment to uprooting drug-related activities under Operation Dawn 2.0. He reaffirmed that such operations will continue with full force to protect the youth and safeguard the future of the region.
