BORDUMSA, April 24: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Drug Squad of Changlang district police conducted a successful operation on Thursday, under Operation Dawn.
During the operation, the team apprehended a female drug peddler and seized a substantial quantity of suspected heroin from her residence in Wagun-I village under Bordumsa Circle.
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, a team from Bordumsa Police Station, in the presence of Suraj Gurung, ADC Bordumsa, conducted a search at the house of Smt. Junmoni Singpho (32). The operation led to the recovery of 44 soap cases containing 494.31 grams of suspected heroin, along with ₹1,95,900/- in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

The Operation was led by Inspector Tomai Wangpan, Officer-in-Charge of Bordumsa PS, and included L/SI Techi Sumnya, SI (SG) RN Payeng, SI (SG/Dvr) M. Wangno, ASI (SG) Saitong Singpho, HC (SG) Ongseng Singpho, L/CT. Padma Kimsing, CT. Alex Hakhun, and CT. Timin Hakhun.
The accused has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigation is currently underway.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to intensifying the war on drugs in the region and urged the public to continue cooperating by reporting suspicious activities.
