DOLLUNGMUKH, May 27: A live unexploded bomb has been discovered in Rigyu village near Kherbari, Dollungmukh. The discovery was reported by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Dollungmukh Police Station to the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) on May 26, 2025. Immediate action has been initiated by the Indian Air Force (IAF) from the DM Range Dollungmukh for the controlled detonation and safe diffusion of the explosive.
In response to the incident, Executive Magistrate-cum-SDO of Dollungmukh, Kamle District, has invoked Section 144 of the CrPC, 1973, imposing strict prohibitory orders to ensure public safety.
As per the order, the following restrictions are in effect from May 26, 2025, and will continue until the bomb is safely diffused:
- Prohibition of public entry and movement within a 500-metre radius of the bomb site, with additional restrictions extending up to 2000 metres in designated protective zones.
- Ban on the grazing of domestic animals in the affected area.
- Suspension of fresh cultivation activities in and around the danger zone.
- Restriction on the movement of public and private vehicles through the cordoned-off area.
- Halt on all fresh road construction activities in the vicinity.

All concerned authorities, including the OC of PS Dollungmukh, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, and Head Gaon Buras (HGBs)/Gaon Buras (GBs) of Dollungmukh have been directed to ensure wide public dissemination of the prohibitory measures and to maintain a clear perimeter around the site.
The administration has urged residents and livestock owners to strictly avoid the area to prevent any untoward incidents. The diffusement process is currently underway and further updates will be issued as the situation progresses.
