DC stress providing support for skill development & vocational courses for recovering
youth at NCORD Meeting

PASIGHAT, July 30, 2025: East Siang DC Sonalika Jiwani has stressed on mainstreaming of
recovering youth through skill development initiatives, career counselling and creating an
enabling support system through positive interventions in reintegrating and facilitating aA
sense of positive direction to the youth. Commending the proactive efforts made by the
East Siang District Police alongwith stakeholder departments, NGOs and Anti-Drug Warriors
In the anti-drug initiatives, the East Siang DC urged to sustain the efforts for a drug free
society.
The DC said this while addressing the 11 th monthly District NCORD meeting organised by the
East Siang Police here today at DC’s Conference Hall. The DC reviewed the action taken
report on key issues from the members of the NCORD on adherence to SOPS by Rehab
Centres, implementation of the prohibition of alcohol in public areas by the District
Administration along with mandatory prohibitory signage, drug awareness campaigns.
Career counselling in schools and academic institutions, regular patrolling of vulnerable zones
.The DC asked the Department of Industries,skill development and other concerned departments
to conduct awareness programmes and handhold in availing the various self-employment/
entrepreneurship flagship schemes and various skill development courses and sought time
bound action taken report.
SP East Siang Pankaj Lamba, briefed that so far more than twelve thousand school students
in schools of Pasighat and schools at sub-divisional levels till July have been covered as part
of the awareness campaign taken up by the East Siang Police as part of the Voice Against
Drug Abuse (VADA) Clubs under the Operation Dwan 2.0 initiated by the Arunachal Pradesh
Police. District Police in coordination with T & Excise dept. efforts in curbing illegal and
Unlicensed liquor sales were also highlighted.
Dy. SP Ayub Boko also apprised on enforcement measures by the Anti Drug Squad (ADS).
Various practical issues faced in rehabilitation efforts by Drug De Addiction Centres was also
apprised by the Incharges of the Rehab Centres.

BPGH, Dr. T.Tali, Supt . T & E Kanggong Da, i DMO, Dr.Yemling Perme, CDPO , Kaling
Moyong, DDSE Odhuk Tabing, WASE President Yamik Dulom, WASE GS, Joya Tasung, Gumin
Mize, Anti Drug Warrior, In charges of Rehab Centres, NGO stakeholders among others.
