Mayor Tamme Phassang Backs Youth-Led Green Movement in Landmark MoU with ASEZ

ITANAGAR, Aug 4: In a groundbreaking step toward community-driven environmental restoration, the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) and ASEZ (Save the Earth from A to Z) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on pressing ecological issues through the power of youth-led volunteerism.

The partnership, signed today in the presence of Mayor Tamme Phassang and ASEZ Itanagar representatives, aims to address urgent environmental threats such as ecosystem degradation, pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss. With a shared vision of sustainability and global citizenship, the agreement focuses on mobilizing university students to engage in active solutions through awareness drives, clean-up campaigns, and ecosystem restoration projects.

Speaking at the signing ceremony Mayor Tamme Phassang, expressed his admiration for the initiative. Young minds brimming with zeal took a remarkable step today, as Mayor, Team IMC officially joined hands with Team ASEZ to promote awareness on cleanliness across our city. The MoU not only outlines plans to empower students with practical environmental responsibilities but also emphasizes collaborative research, local stakeholder involvement, and global outreach through ASEZ’s Earth Recovery Project. The parties committed to regular volunteer activities, mutual support, and continuous consultation to measure the effectiveness and impact of their joint efforts,added Mayor.
