Changlang DCC Mourns the Passing of Senior Congress Leader Sethai Sena

Miao, Sept 21: The Changlang District Congress Committee (DCC) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of one of its most senior and dedicated leaders, Sethai Sena, who passed away at 3:00 PM today at his residence in Nongtham village after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 56.

Born on 1 September 1969 to Late Sechey Sena and Late Nyawom Sena, Sethai Sena pursued his early education at Kharsang Secondary School and completed his higher secondary studies at Miao Higher Secondary School. He graduated from St. Edmund’s College, Shillong in 1992.

A passionate social worker, Sena entered active politics in 2004, serving as Anchal Chairperson (2004–2008). He went on to lead the Changlang District Congress Committee for three consecutive terms from 2009 to 2017, and was re-elected to the post in 2022, a position he held until his demise.

Remembered as a leader of unwavering dedication and humility, his contributions to the Congress party and the people of Changlang district have left an indelible mark.

The DCC extended heartfelt condolences to his wife Smti. Mangila Sena, his three children, extended family, and all who were inspired by his leadership.

“His legacy of service and commitment to the people will continue to inspire generations to come,” the Committee stated.
