Siroti Tana passed away at 4:32 am at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, where she had been undergoing treatment since September 24 after suffering a stroke caused by a brain hemorrhage, family members said.

Born to Late Tanu Tana and Yarang Tana of Palin village in Pijirang circle under Pakke-Kessang district, Late Siroti Tana was remembered for her gentle nature, kindness and selfless devotion to her family. Relatives described her as a fine lady, a loving wife and a caring mother who lived her life with grace and dignity.

“The media fraternity shares the grief of our colleague Biri Tage and his family in this difficult hour. We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers for the departed soul to rest in peace,” the statement said.
The two organisations also urged the media fraternity to stand in solidarity with the bereaved family, noting that the loss of a mother is an irreparable void for any family.
