NARI,Nov 12: Home Minister Shri Mama Natung today inaugurated the 2nd Edition of the District Level Lt. Tako Dabi Memorial Football Tournament 2025 at Nari in Lower Siang District. The tournament is sponsored by the Cibo Baagv Ao Kvba and organized by the District Football Association, Lower Siang, under the aegis of the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association, at the Daying Ering Memorial Football Stadium.

A total of 13 teams are competing for the coveted championship trophy and a cash prize of ₹1,50,000 during the tournament, which is scheduled from November 12–18, 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Natung fondly remembered Late Tako Dabi, former Home Minister and the first MLA of Nari–Koyu Assembly Constituency, describing him as “a simple yet straightforward leader and a true statesman.” He expressed gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to participate in the event and to offer floral tributes to the great leader.

Emphasizing the importance of sports and youth empowerment, the Minister urged the younger generation to make the best use of various government initiatives for sportspersons, inspiring them with the slogan, “Drug chhodiye, khel se jodiye.” He highlighted Arunachal Pradesh’s growing prominence in sports, calling it “a sporting powerhouse of the country,” and lauded the state’s youth for “shining in every field.”
During his visit, the Home Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Police Station building at Nari.
Among the dignitaries present were Shri Tojir Kadu, MLA Nari–Koyu; Shri Tapi Darang, MLA Pasighat; Smti Miti Moyong Dabi, widow of Late Tako Dabi; Shri Rujjum Rakshap, DC Lower Siang; Shri Hobi Tamang, DIGP Pasighat; Shri Gothombu Dajangju, SP Lower Siang; along with other HoDs, Panchayat leaders, GBs, members of Cibo Baagv Ao Kvba, sports enthusiasts, and the general public.
Earlier in the day, Shri Natung visited the Samadhi Sthal of Late Tako Dabi and offered floral tributes.((DIPRO)
