BASAR,Jan13:In a powerful demonstration of preparedness and professionalism, troops of the Spearhead Division under Spear Corps acted with remarkable speed to avert a potential tragedy in the rugged terrain of Basar district.
A civilian Bolero pickup vehicle, owned by Mr. Amar, met with a serious accident and plunged nearly 60 metres down a steep hillside, coming to rest dangerously close to a residential structure. Thanks to timely intervention and swift action, no casualties were reported, preventing what could have been a major disaster.
On receiving information, a quick reaction team comprising one Junior Commissioned Officer and four Other Ranks, backed by a heavy-duty recovery vehicle, was immediately deployed to the site. Battling treacherous terrain and challenging conditions, the team carried out a high-risk recovery operation, successfully retrieving the severely damaged vehicle through careful planning, precise coordination and sustained effort.
The operation was executed with military precision, ensuring maximum safety, minimal disruption to civilian life and complete protection of nearby property. The prompt response once again underscored the Indian Armyβs unwavering commitment as a dependable first responder, especially in remote and difficult regions of the Northeast.
