Tenga Valley, Aug 15: In a grand celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Tenga Valley hosted a vibrant event at the Assembly Ground, with Brig James Thomas, Deputy GOC 5 Mountain Division and Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC), gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was further honored by the presence of Guests of Honour, Lt. Col R.K. Verma, SO1 (Edn) 5 Mtn Div (Nominee Chairman), and Mr. and Mrs. Uday Singh, Commanding Officer of the EME.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Brig James Thomas, followed by the singing of the national anthem, marking the beginning of the day’s festivities. The Principal (I/C) delivered a heartfelt welcome address, expressing gratitude to the national heroes who fought for India’s independence and acknowledging the dignitaries for their presence.

The celebration continued with a series of captivating performances by students from both the primary and secondary sections. Students from classes XI and VI filled the air with patriotic fervor through their melodious songs, while young girls from the third to the seventh standard dazzled the audience with culturally diverse dance performances. The excitement reached its peak as students from classes III and IV executed an exhilarating pyramid formation, followed by a touching patriotic performance by the school’s youngest students. The energy and enthusiasm of the students were palpable, leaving the audience spellbound.

In his address to the gathering, Brig James Thomas praised the students for their outstanding performances, particularly highlighting the achievements of the school’s sports students who recently brought home numerous medals from the Regional Sports Meet. He commended the dedication and hard work of both the students and the faculty.

The event concluded with the Honorable Principal delivering a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all participants and the support of the dignitaries. The ceremony wrapped up with light refreshments for the students, marking the end of a day filled with pride, patriotism, and celebration.
