DAPORIJO, Aug 12: Minister of Textile and Handicraft, Industries, Nyato Dukam, chaired a comprehensive coordination meeting today with the Heads of Departments, joined by Daporijo MLA Taniya Soki, Dumporijo MLA Rode Bui, and Nacho MLA Nakap Nalo. The primary objective of the meeting was to review the progress and challenges faced by each department, enabling the four MLAs to collectively address these issues and unlock the potential for growth and development in Upper Subansiri District.
In his remarks, Minister Dukam emphasized the importance of embracing complex challenges rather than avoiding them. He urged the Heads of Departments to engage in innovative and collaborative problem-solving, stressing that the success of the district’s development initiatives hinges on their dedication and transparency. Minister Dukam assured that the MLAs would work in unison to address the issues raised and announced that such coordination meetings would be held regularly to assess challenges and explore opportunities.
Nacho MLA Nalo on his part called on the Heads of Departments to conduct regular field visits to gain a thorough understanding of the ground realities. He highlighted the necessity of streamlining service delivery to the public and maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and dedication among the officers.
Taking part in the discussions, Daporijo MLA Soki emphasized the importance of strong coordination and cooperation among departments and with the MLAs. He reaffirmed that the ultimate goal of both the departments and legislators is to serve the people and assured that all possible support would be extended to the departments to achieve this.
Meanwhile, Dumporijo MLA Bui expressed confidence that with the coordinated efforts of the four MLAs and the departments, the district could be steered towards holistic development and meaningful progress. He specifically highlighted the need for uncompromising standards in education, health, and public security, stressing the importance of accountability among officers.
The day-long meeting covered a wide range of issues, including absenteeism among officials, the implementation of central and state government flagship welfare schemes, the status of roads and bridges, the condition of health centers, the Golden Jubilee Border Village Illumination Programme, and the Jal Jeevan Mission. Each department presented detailed reports on their achievements and the challenges they face, providing a clear picture of the current status and the steps needed for improvement.
Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Tasso Gambo, who was also present at the meeting, pledged full administrative support to the departments, reinforcing the district’s commitment to collective progress.
