Itanagar, Aug 22 : The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) has stepped forward to advocate for the safety and security of women in the state, following a heartfelt appeal from Tengam Celine Koyu, Former Miss Arunachal. Koyu, who has raised concerns about the injustice and threats she has been facing, reached out for support, prompting a response from APWWS.
In a recent meeting with the Chairperson of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, Smt. Kenjum Pakam, the APWWS team expressed their deep concern for the safety and security of women, particularly in the workplace. As a leading mother NGO, APWWS emphasized the urgent need to constitute a committee dedicated to overseeing state events related to women, ensuring that a woman of strong integrity is part of this committee to prevent any form of exploitation and harassment.
The APWWS has extended its full solidarity to Tengam Celine Koyu in her struggle for justice, underscoring their commitment to supporting all daughters and sisters in the state, regardless of the field in which they work. The organization’s call for action reflects a broader push to safeguard women’s rights and ensure a safe environment for all women in Arunachal Pradesh.
