Changlang, Aug 30: In a joint operation led by the All Tangsa Woman Society and the Department of Police, a raid was conducted at BN Colony, near Pani Tanki in Changlang headquarters, on the evening of August 28, 2024. The operation, which began around 7:30 PM, targeted a suspected drug and opium peddler.
During the raid, the suspect managed to escape by jumping from the house. However, the police, undeterred by the initial escape, initiated a continuous pursuit. The suspect was successfully apprehended the next day on August 29 at 3:34 PM, hiding in a jhum field.
Following her capture, the suspect was immediately sent to a rehabilitation center for treatment and recovery. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by local organizations and law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse in the region.
