Namasibo, Sep 7: In a significant step towards women empowerment and local craftsmanship promotion, the Indian Army inaugurated a state-of-the-art Skill Development Centre in Namasibo Vibrant Village, Shi Yomi District, Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities for women in this remote and forward area by providing them with a platform to nurture and refine their skills, fostering self-sufficiency and contributing to society’s progress.
Equipped with modern facilities such as Galo Weavers, stitching machines, and an intuitive interactive learning system, the centre will offer professional training in various skills. These resources aim to blend traditional cultural skills with modern technology to improve employability among the local women.
ADC Manigong Idam Bagra, at the inauguration, remarked, “This centre will provide a platform for the women to hone their cultural skills, enhancing their employability and contributing to the growth of society, the region, and the state as a whole.”
Several notable figures attended the ceremony, including Shri Moi Bagra, Chairperson of the Galo Welfare Society, Miss Rijum Puning, BMM ArSRLM Manigong, Miss Rimung, Conservation Biologist, and SI Nani Tadu, OC Police Station Monigong.
This initiative is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the local community, offering valuable skill development opportunities for women in the region.
