DNGC Celebrates its 46th Foundation Day ; Felicitates Outstanding Alumni & Achievers

DNGC, 6th Sept. 2024: Commemorating the brilliant and outstanding 46 years of its existence, Dera Natung Govt. College (DNGC), Itanagar observed the 46th FOUNDATION DAY cum FELICITATION OF OUTSTANDING ALUMNI & OUTSTANDING ACHIEVERS, here today in the college auditorium, in a grand way. This is the first time ever in the history of DNGC, the college has observed and organized its foundation day celebration in a grand and befitting manner which draws the participation of around 500 people.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of Shri Hayeng Mangfi, the Hon’ble MLA cum Advisor to Minister Water Resource, as the chief Guest, Dr. Joram Begi, the former Chief Information Commissioner, GoAP, as the Guest of Honour and Dr. M.Q. Khan, Principal DNGC. It was attended by around 500 people including Outstanding Alumni, Outstanding Achievers, Teaching & non-teaching staff, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and other students of DNGC.

During the event, the college felicitated 14 Outstanding Alumni of DNGC who have served or are serving the state and the nation as a whole in the various fields, and 20 Outstanding Achievers (currently studying in DNGC) who excelled in Games & Sports at National & International levels during the session 2023-24.
The Outstanding Alumni felicitated includes Shri Komkar Dulom, Director, Disaster Management, Shri Vijay Sonam (Social activist/Public Leader), Shri Ramesh Jeke (Social Activist), Shri Safar Pao, social worker, Shri Amar Sangno, President, Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists, Shri Sangha Babu, Jt. Director Planning, Shri Bamang Taniang, Entrepreneur & former General Secretary, Tagit Sorang, Everester, Shri Gumko Tako, BDO ,Ms. Bompi Gapak, 1st class Judicial Magistrate, ZPM , etc.

While Outstanding student -Achievers felicitated by the college for winning medals at the international and the national level include Lumter Uli (Gold medal, Taekwondo), Muskan Manyu, Bronze medal, Taekwondo, Radha Bangsia, Gold medal, Taekwondo, Gyaniyu Amonth, Football Papung Bado (Bronze medal, football), Kina Sipa (Gold, Karate), Gyamar Kana, Bronze ,Wushu Tang Ama, silver, Wushu, Bake Tarium, Bronze- Karate, Adam Langkung,silver , Ju- Jitsu, Dugi Lulu, Chow Sumetha Langkan, Pomen Teppa, Guruk Purdung, Bengia Ruktung, Choki Sumnia, Tarh Mangsa, Lindum Tata, Jikke Yasika, Nang Khemawati Manang etc.

Earlier, on 6th August 2023, the first ever OUTSTANDING ALUMNI MEET CUM FELICITATION PROGRAMME was held in the college auditorium, wherein more than 300 Outstanding Alumni were warmly felicitated by the college and the the programme was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Pema Khandu ji and the Hon’ble Mayor, Shri Tamme Phassangji Hence, only those outstanding alumni who missed last year, were felicitated this time.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Shri Hayeng Mangfi, Hon’ble MLA cum Advisor to Minister Water Resource stressed his concern and belief in PAN Arunachal which is the only mantra to bring the state onto higher and advanced level. He strongly advised the people to refrain from clan and community-based politics only then the state can be developed properly.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Joram Begi, former Chief Information Commissioner, GoAP, who is also the pioneer and founder principal of DNGC, expressed his nostalgic past experience starting from the time, when the college was established in 1979 with a night shift only till becoming full fledged college.

While extending his red-carpet welcome to the members present, DNGC Principal Dr. M.Q. Khan highlighted the main objectives of the event and presented the Brief Profile of DNGC. He informed that, being a prestigious institute of the state, the college has produced more than 50,000 alumni which include thousands of officers, public leaders- Hon’ble MP, MLAs & Ministers, Social Activists, Media persons, Lawyers & Advocates, etc.
Mr. Devadhar Sengdo the convener along with members- Mr. Botem Moyong, Ms. Nyabi Bagra, Mr. Joba Riba & Mr. L.R. singh coordinated with the programme.
