ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The Science Club of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) Itanagar organized its inaugural program, the “Cosmic Curiosity Carnival-2024,” at the college auditorium on October 28, 2024. With the theme “Bridge between Worlds: Science and Imagination,” the event aimed to inspire students and promote scientific curiosity across various academic disciplines.
The day’s highlights included a logo design competition for the Science Club and a science working model competition open to all college students, drawing nearly eighty participants. Tamchi Heena, Tsering Droma, Marken Riram, Khoda Tapu Job, and Pura Sumpi from the Botany Department claimed first place in the working model competition. Second place went to Tashi Pema, Pona Moinyak, Liya Haider, and Pormak Dignium from the Zoology Department, while Yapuk Yangfo, Naziya Parween, Minyir Ingo, Orjonkam Tikhak, and Yapi Diru from the Mathematics Department secured third place.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. M. Q. Khan, Principal of DNGC, accompanied by all science department HODs. Dr. Gyati Tachang Tado, convener of the Science Club, outlined the club’s goals, while Dr. Khan emphasized the club’s role in popularizing science and engaging students from diverse backgrounds in scientific pursuits. Dr. Ratna Tayeng, co-coordinator of the Science Club, concluded the event with a vote of thanks. The day ended with a photo session of the winners alongside the dignitaries and a rendition of the national anthem.
