NAHARLAGUN, Dec 14 : In a heart-wrenching incident, the collapse of an overhead water tank at St. Alphonsa School, Naharlagun, has resulted in the tragic deaths of three students and left two others seriously injured. The mishap has plunged the school and the community into deep sorrow and raised urgent questions about infrastructure safety.

Superintendent of police, Naharlagun Mihin Gambo informed that, the tragic collapse occurred at approximately 9:00 AM during regular school hours, leaving students and staff in shock. Immediate rescue efforts were undertaken, and the injured were swiftly transported to TRIHMS for medical attention.
Deceased Students has been identified as Ekam Bagang – Class IX, Rei Dol – Class IX, Marsu Dubi – Class IX .Two students who got injuries are Toko Dolum – Class VIII and Licha Butum – Class VI.

The injured students are currently undergoing treatment at TRIHMS, where medical teams are providing intensive care.
In the wake of the incident, police have detained six individuals, including the school building owner,school principal and Four wardens.
The SP further appeals the public to remain calm and maintain peace as authorities conducting a thorough and impartial investigation into this unfortunate tragedy.
