Indian Army Launches Religious & Pilgrimage Tour from Tuting to Tawang Under Operation Sadbhavna

LIKABALI, Dec 14:  The Indian Army’s Spear Corps, under Operation Sadbhavna, launched a significant Religious and Pilgrimage Tour aimed at fostering cultural unity, religious harmony, and national integration. The tour, comprising 20 pilgrims, was flagged off from the Likabali Military Station by Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding of 3 Corps.

This spiritual expedition, covering the route from Tuting to Tawang, provides participants with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the serene landscapes and spiritual heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. Organized by the Spear Corps of the Eastern Command, this initiative reflects the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to strengthening ties with local communities and promoting communal harmony.

The flagging-off ceremony was attended by Army officials, local dignitaries, and enthusiastic pilgrims, all of whom expressed deep gratitude for this unique opportunity. Speaking at the event, Lt Gen Pendharkar emphasized the importance of fostering unity and understanding among India’s diverse communities. He highlighted the Indian Army’s role in contributing to peace, development, and nation-building, particularly in the remote regions of the Northeast.

The pilgrimage journey is designed to showcase the rich cultural and religious heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, taking the participants from the pristine landscapes of Tuting to the spiritually revered town of Tawang, home to the Tawang Monastery, one of the largest and most significant Buddhist monasteries in India.

Participants lauded the initiative as a remarkable opportunity to explore their cultural roots while connecting with the spiritual ethos of the region. Local leaders praised the Army for its dedication under Operation Sadbhavna, which continues to promote goodwill and integration across the nation.
