Miao,Jan 10: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) of Miao Police Station apprehended a suspected drug peddler near the Miao Welcome Gate on January 10, 2025, around 12:00 noon.
The accused, identified as Smti Sunita Subba (32), daughter of Late Chandra Bahadur Subba and a resident of Namphai Singpho Village, had been under surveillance by the ADS team for her alleged role in supplying drugs to the Vijaynagar area. Acting on credible intelligence, the squad intercepted her and conducted a thorough search of her belongings.
Seizure Details
With assistance from Lady Constables and in adherence to Section 50 of the NDPS Act, the search revealed:
- 67.48 grams (including container weight) of suspected heroin
- Concealed within one plastic power drink container and five plastic tobacco containers.
The suspect was arrested on the spot following all legal protocols, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
