Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Emphasizes on Organic Farming, Infrastructure, Sports Development at APF 2.0

BAGRA, Jan 24: Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Minority Affairs,  Kiren Rijiju, emphasized the tremendous potential of Arunachal Pradesh to become a leading producer of pineapples in India.

Minister was attending Arunachal Pineapple Festival (APF) 2.0 held in Higi Bagra as Chief Guest  along with prominent leaders, including Adv. Kento Jini – Minister of Law, Legislative & Justice, SJETA, Sports & Youth Affairs, GoAP, and  Tamme Phassang, Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation.

During the festival, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated several central development projects in West Siang District. Addressing the crowd, Rijiju stressed the need to elevate the Arunachal Pineapple Festival to a national platform. He praised the soil of the Bagra region, which he described as highly suitable for pineapple cultivation. Encouraging local farmers, he urged them to increase production and highlighted the importance of organic farming, urging against the use of artificial chemicals.

Rijiju highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in the state, emphasizing that border roads, electricity, and mobile connectivity have significantly improved, creating a stronger foundation for agricultural growth. He called on the people of Arunachal to make the state the “Fruit Bowl of India” and reassured farmers that the government would provide the necessary support for fruit cultivation, including infrastructure.

In a further push for sports development, the Union Minister announced plans to construct a sports stadium in Darka village. He also shared that Arunachal’s GDP has been rising, contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of the state.

Minister Kento Jini echoed the Union Minister’s call for organic farming, emphasizing government schemes such as ANBY, ANKY, and CMMAY, which are aimed at supporting farmers and young entrepreneurs. He also encouraged village leaders to ensure fairness in the delivery of justice at the grassroots level.

The event was attended by a distinguished group of officials, including Nyabi Jini Dirchi HMLA Basar, Mamu Hage IAS DC West Siang, HoDs, senior citizens of Aalo, ZPC West Siang Tumpe Ete, PRI leaders, and the public of West Siang. (DIPRO)
