LIKABALI, Jan 25: The 15th National Voters’ Day (NVD) was celebrated with great fervor at Chidu Chigo Ground, Likabali, organized by the District Election Office, Lower Siang.
District Election Officer Rujjum Rakshap administered the Voter’s Pledge and urged young voters and students to exercise their voting rights responsibly, free from inducement or undue pressure. Speaking on the occasion, Rakshap emphasized the significance of the theme, “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure,” highlighting the importance of active voter participation in strengthening democracy.
The celebration featured a prize distribution ceremony for district-level painting and essay competitions on the Voters’ Day theme. These contests, conducted earlier in schools across the district, aimed to inspire awareness and enthusiasm among students about the electoral process.
The event witnessed active participation from Shri Gothombu Dajangju, SP Lower Siang, along with heads of departments (HODs), officers, officials, school students, and members of the public.
In addition to the central event, National Voters’ Day was observed in all offices and polling stations across the district, including Likabali and Nari-Koyu sub-divisions, with participants taking the Voter’s Pledge to reaffirm their commitment to democracy.(DIPRO)
