Mentor Secretary (Home)C.N. Longphai Chairs District-Level Review Meeting

AALO, Feb 23:i C.N. Longphai (IAS), Commissioner (Home) and Mentor Secretary of West Siang District, chaired a district-level review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Aalo, on 22nd February 2025. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage (IAS), Superintendent of Police Shri Kardak Riba, ADC Smty Mabi Taipodia Jini, MLA Shri Topin Ete, and various heads of departments.

ADC Mabi Taipodia Jini welcomed the Mentor Secretary and departmental officials, while Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage provided an overview of the district’s progress and challenges.

During his two-day official visit to West Siang, Shri C.N. Longphai inspected key projects in Aalo township on 21st February, including the construction of a 60-bedded General Hospital, the Mini Secretariat, and an outdoor stadium. Accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner and departmental heads, he reviewed the status of these developmental initiatives.

In the review meeting, Shri C.N. Longphai urged executing agencies to ensure timely completion of all major projects without compromising on quality. He emphasized that at least 60% of the physical work on major projects should be achieved within this financial year. The Rural Works Department (RWD) was specifically directed to adhere to PMGSY timelines and submit regular progress reports to the Deputy Commissioner.

MLA Topin Ete highlighted concerns regarding the non-functional sports complex at Darka and assured that he would arrange necessary funds for its revival.

The Mentor Secretary also instructed all departments to submit project details, including recent photographs, and mandated that all proposals and schemes be routed through the Deputy Commissioner. Additionally, he stressed the importance of streamlining the marketing of horticulture products to facilitate exports.

To ensure West Siang’s development, Shri C.N. Longphai urged all departments to expedite the completion of major projects and government flagship schemes. Following the review meeting, he, along with Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage, SP Shri Kardak Riba, and other officials, conducted a physical inspection of NH-13 viaducts at Bagra and major infrastructure projects in the 30 Aalo West and 27 Liromoba constituencies.
