Minister Balo Raja Meets Union Civil Aviation Minister Pushes for More Flights, Airport Expansions in Arunachal

New Delhi, Mar 24: Balo Raja, Minister of Civil Aviation, Arunachal Pradesh, met with Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Government of India, to discuss critical issues concerning the aviation sector in the state.

During the meeting, Minister  Balo Raja highlighted the need for increased air connectivity to and from Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi, along with the early completion of its terminal building and the construction of barracks for security personnel.

He also raised concerns regarding Tezu Airport, seeking the waiver of rental charges for fire and security equipment belonging to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and requesting that the state be allowed to use them free of cost. Additionally, he proposed the extension of Tezu Airport’s runway to accommodate Airbus A320 aircraft, which would significantly boost connectivity and economic opportunities in the region.

Furthermore, Shri Balo Raja urged the Union Minister to facilitate the development of new heliports in every district headquarters to enhance accessibility to remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh.

Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu responded positively to the concerns and assured prompt action to address these key infrastructure and connectivity challenges.
