Major Drug Supplier Nabbed in Joint Operation by Naharlagun and Assam Police

NAHARLAGUN, April 29: In a major breakthrough in the fight against narcotics, Naharlagun Police, under Operation Dawn 2.0, have apprehended the main drug supplier linked to a recent drug bust in Arunachal Pradesh. The arrest is related to Naharlagun PS Case No. 57/25 under Sections 21(b), 27, and 29 of the NDPS Act.

On April 28, last, a police team acting on information obtained during the investigation of two previously arrested accused – Techi Lez and Tana Jamja – conducted a joint operation with Assam Police at Brahmaputra Nagar, near the Dikrong riverbank in Assam.

The coordinated raid led to the arrest of Aamir Ali (39), son of Matlab Ali, a resident of Banderdewa, Assam. Officers seized approximately 27.9 grams of suspected heroin, stored in 20 vials, from his possession.

The operation was spearheaded by Inspector Krishnendu Dev, Officer-in-Charge of Naharlagun PS, and supported by SI Vivek Linggi, SI T Sarke, ASI I Ngomdir, and other dedicated personnel, including HC K Mosi, HC L Tsering, Ct D Borah, HC P Tari, Ct R Kalung, Ct T Dawa, Ct Sanu T Raj, Ct T Pertin, and Ct H Tamin. The team operated under the close supervision of SP Naharlagun Shri Mihin Gambo and SDPO Naharlagun Shri Rishi Longdo.

With this arrest, police believe they have dismantled a significant link in the region’s drug distribution network. Investigations are ongoing to identify and track other individuals connected to this operation.

Naharlagun Police reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating drug trafficking from the region, stating that Operation Dawn 2.0 will continue to target and dismantle drug networks that threaten the well-being of the community, especially the youth.
