Pasighat Police Crack Theft Case Within 24 Hours, Recover Stolen Jewelry,Accused Arrested

Pasighat, May 14: Demonstrating swift action and effective policing, Pasighat Police have successfully solved a theft case within a day of its reporting, recovering stolen jewelry and arresting the main accused.

The case began with a complaint filed by Shri Tajing Padung on May 6, 2025, regarding a burglary that occurred the previous day at around 3:00 PM. The incident took place at his government residential quarter in Officers’ Colony, High Region, Pasighat, where unidentified individuals allegedly stole gold earrings, a gold ring, silver coins, and other jewelry.

Pasighat Police promptly registered the case under PSGT PS Case No. 38/2025 U/S 305/329/332(C) BNS, assigning SI Johny Tasung as the Investigating Officer. Immediate action followed, with a detailed examination of the crime scene, recording of witness statements, and alerting of local jewelry vendors.

Based on solid intelligence and relentless investigation, police traced the stolen items to Mirsam Village. The valuables were found in the possession of Smti Osi Taloh and Shri Talom Taloh, who admitted to receiving the stolen items from the accused. The jewelry was seized in the presence of independent witnesses and later identified by the complainant’s wife.

The breakthrough led investigators to the main accused, Shri Kadum alias Kabang Pertin of Mirsam Village, who was arrested and produced before the court of the Learned CJM, Pasighat. He has since been remanded to judicial custody. The recovered items have been returned to the rightful owner on Zimma.

The operation was executed by a dedicated team consisting of SI Johny Tasung, ASI (SG) T. Ering, Ct. K.W. Kharmo, and L/Ct. N. Sawin. Their efforts were carried out under the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge, Pasighat PS, and the guidance of SP Shri Pankaj Lamba, IPS, East Siang District.

This swift and successful resolution reflects the vigilance, efficiency, and dedication of the Pasighat Police in maintaining law and order and delivering justice to citizens.
