Speaker P D Sona inaugurates “Martyr Tape Yajo Dwaar”

MONIGONG, Nov 30: State Assembly Speaker P D Sona on Wednesday inaugurated the welcome gate “Martyr Tape Yajo Dwaar” in presence of Major General Shri V.K. Purohit, GOC, Brigadier Shri D.S Rathod and Colonel Dilip Singh Rathod at Besang in Karo village to commemorate Amarveer Tape Yajo who made the supreme sacrifice and laid down his life for the nation.

Inaugurating the gate, Speaker exhorted, “ I am proudly sharing with you that Martyr Tape Yajo was from area, you have heard about his bravery how he made supreme sacrifice in anti-terrorist operation. He been awarded Kirti Chakra, second highest gallantry in peace time war. Its a  great proud not only for Karo village but for entire Shi-Yomi District”
“I thank Indian Army for organising this small yet beautiful programe to pay homage to Martyr Yajo and pass message to the people about his bravery” Sona added.

“ We can sleep in peace because of our Armed Forces who guard the international borders. Though we have China as our neighbour but we could sleep in peace because of you” Sona acknowledges the Indian army contribution in defending the nation.
“Patriotism among  Arunachalees will not find any other part in India, I appeal to the Army that more youths from Arunachal be recruited in the security forces” he said.
Late Naik Tape Yajo hailing from Karo village of Pidi Circle of Shi-Yomi was saga of bravery and gallantry who served Indian army with distinction in the India Army for over 12 years and a proud son of Arunachal Pradesh.
He laid his life during operation against terrorist in Jammu & Kashmir while leading scout of the attacking column tasked to eliminate terrorists in Poonch sector of Jammu & Kashmir life on 21st September 2008. During the operation, terrorists attacked unexpectedly from a very close range with heavy automatic gun fire and in the ensuing gunfight at close range Nike Tape Yajo was wounded with bullet injury. Despite being wounded and bleeding profusely, he charged the terrorists at close range and he and his team killed three hardcore terrorist. His gallant action led to the elimination of the terrorists without causing further damage to the nation. Being grievously injured, Naik Tape Yajo Succumbed to his injuries and laid down his life on 22 September 2008.
Considering his gallant action, bravery and supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation, Naike Tape Yajo was awarded with kirti Chakra posthumously. He was one the most decorated army men with 50th Year of Independence Anniversary Army Medal, Videsh Seva medal with Clasp Bhutan, Special Seva medal with Clasp Suraksha, OP Rakshak Medal, High Altitude Medal, 9 Years Long Service Medal OP Parakaram Medal and Prestigious Kriti Chakra posthumously.

The Speaker also unveiled the bust of Amarveer Tape Yajo, Kirti Chakra, on the occasion.
