Executive Engineer Caught Red-Handed in Bribery Case Linked to Power Project; ACB Makes Arrest

Itanagar, July 18: In a decisive action against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Arunachal Pradesh arrested Dogin Tade, Executive Engineer (Electrical) of the Sagalee Electrical Division, for allegedly accepting a bribe in connection with a rural electrification project under the Parang Circle.

As per the press statement of ACB, the arrest was made on July 17 following a complaint filed by Shri Nabam Jaane. As per the complaint, the engineer had demanded a bribe of ₹7,00,000—around 13% of the total bill amount—for clearing pending payments related to the “Extension of 11KV line from Seema to Poteh village, including construction of LT Line and Sub-station.”

Despite the contractor having completed all formal obligations, the accused allegedly delayed the payment process and demanded the bribe under the pretext of LOC (Letter of Credit) clearance. Acting promptly on the verified complaint, the ACB laid a trap and apprehended Tade red-handed while accepting ₹40,000 as part of the demanded bribe.

The tainted cash was recovered from his possession during the operation, and additional incriminating evidence was collected. A case has been registered under ACB PS Case No. 06/2025, invoking Sections 7 and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has reiterated its commitment to combating corruption at all levels of governance and has appealed to citizens to report any unethical practices or misconduct by public servants. The ACB office is located at the Civil Secretariat, Itanagar.
