DDSE Changlang Conducts First Official Visit to Schools Under Khy Block, Emphasizes Reforms and Accountability

CHANGLANG, Aug 5: In a proactive move towards strengthening grassroots-level education, Rajiv Lomdak, the newly appointed Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), Changlang, conducted his maiden inspection visit to several schools under the Khy Block on August 5, 2025.

The schools covered during the visit included GUPS Bubang II, GSS Yanman, PM SHRI Longkey, and GUPS Khy. The primary objective of the visit was to evaluate the overall functioning, infrastructure, and learning environment in these institutions, while also understanding the ground-level challenges faced by teachers and students.

During his interaction with the teaching staff, DDSE Lomdak laid strong emphasis on ensuring safety and security in school campuses, especially in areas where construction activities are ongoing. He issued clear instructions that migrant labourers must not be allowed near school premises to safeguard the well-being of the students.

At GSS Yanman, DDSE urged the faculty to focus on improving Class 10 board exam results, directing the school to set a minimum target of 80% pass percentage for the current academic session. He also underlined the importance of strengthening hostel facilities for both middle and secondary-level students to enhance academic support and retention.

Key areas of inspection during the visit included: Status of Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Scheme, Conduct of Bagless Day activities, Regular Periodic and Monthly Tests, Student enrolment and attendance and Shortage of subject teachers

Acknowledging the shortage of subject teachers in several schools, DDSE Lomdak assured that the issue will be prioritized and addressed at the earliest possible.

He concluded the visit by motivating teachers to remain dedicated and accountable, stressing that their role is pivotal in shaping the future of students and the region. His visit was well-received and marked a renewed sense of commitment among the educators.
