YACHULI, Aug 6:A two-day District Level Workshop on Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) Version 2.0 kicked off today at the Mini Secretariat in Yachuli, Keyi Panyor District. The workshop is being organized by the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR), Government of Arunachal Pradesh, under the facilitation of Shri Tamar Baki, Faculty at SIRD&PR.
In his inaugural address, Shri Baki explained that PAI 2.0 serves as a performance-based evaluation framework aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across nine thematic areas of Localization of SDGs (LSDGs). He emphasized that the index will empower Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) by establishing clear benchmarks in planning, service delivery, financial governance, transparency, and citizen engagement.
The workshop is being coordinated by Shri Likha Teji, ADC HQ-cum-DPDO of Keyi Panyor District, who ensured the active involvement of all key departments. Around 50 participants, including 15 Heads of Departments from sectors such as Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Health, PHED, and APEDA, took part in the inaugural session.

A central focus of the workshop is training on the Data Collection Formats (DCF) designed by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) in collaboration with NITI Aayog and NIC, New Delhi. These formats assess each Gram Panchayat using 144 Local Targets and 577 Local Indicators spread across the nine thematic areas.
The successful implementation of PAI 2.0 is expected to significantly enhance grassroots-level governance and boost the prospects of qualified Gram Panchayats for the prestigious National Panchayat Awards.
