Seppa Hosts Grand Pre-Independence Day Celebration Showcasing Unity, Patriotism, and Development

SEPPA, Aug 13: In a vibrant display of unity and patriotism, Seppa came alive today with a grand forerunner celebration to Independence Day 2025, jointly organised by the Indian Army and the District Administration under the Sarkar Aapke Dwar initiative.

Against the scenic backdrop of the mighty Kameng River, the Seppa Football Ground turned into a bustling hub where thousands from across the district gathered. The highlight was an extensive Medical Camp, including a specialised Eye Camp, which benefited over 3,000 people with free health check-ups and eye tests. Those diagnosed with vision problems will soon receive free spectacles, ensuring long-term healthcare benefits.

Marking a major boost to local healthcare, the Indian Army donated an ambulance and vital medical equipment to enhance emergency response and rural health services in East Kameng. Government stalls under Sarkar Aapke Dwar offered direct access to welfare schemes, while the Army’s Weapon Display and inspiring interactions encouraged youth to explore careers in the Armed Forces. The Military Band’s patriotic tunes blended seamlessly with cultural performances, creating an atmosphere of national pride.

The day also celebrated the district’s cultural richness, with spirited tribal dances and a local troupe offering a colourful glimpse into East Kameng’s traditions. The Army’s impressive Malkhambh display drew loud applause, showcasing skill, strength, and discipline.

From dawn to dusk, the event stood as a shining example of civil-military cooperation — blending development, health, culture, and national pride. As the celebrations concluded, the people of East Kameng left with renewed confidence and a strengthened sense of belonging to India’s growth story.
