First District-Level Committee Meeting on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Held at Yachuli

Yachuli, Aug 19: In a determined step towards creating a drug-free society, the first District Level Committee Meeting under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) was convened today at the DC Conference Hall, Yachuli, Keyi Panyor District.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Smt. Shweta Nagarkoti and coordinated by Shri Khoda Tapa, CDPO-cum-Nodal Officer NMBA, witnessed the participation of representatives from key departments including Police, DMO, DDSE, Social Welfare, Tax & Excise, ArSLRM, NGOs, and Youth Affairs, alongside panchayat leaders, school principals, and college authorities.

Addressing the gathering, DC Shweta Nagarkoti stressed the urgent need to combat rising substance abuse among youth and underscored the importance of multi-sectoral coordination, community participation, and youth-driven campaigns in achieving the mission’s objectives.

Nodal Officer Shri Khoda Tapa, in his presentation, elaborated on the vision and goals of NMBA, identifying schools, Anganwadi centres, and local influencers as critical partners in raising awareness. He also highlighted the need for social media engagement and behavioural change communication to counter substance abuse effectively.

During the deliberations, several key resolutions were adopted, including:

  • Organizing awareness rallies, counselling sessions, and IEC material distribution.
  • Partnering with schools and colleges for sensitization drives.
  • Preparing a district-level activity calendar to streamline initiatives.
  • Collaborating with NGOs for outreach and de-addiction support.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Nodal Officer and a collective pledge by all stakeholders to proactively work towards a drug-free Keyi Panyor District.

The NMBA campaign is expected to intensify in the coming weeks with extensive outreach programs planned across blocks, schools, and communities.
