All Yachuli Students’ Union demands new  ‘Keyi-Panyor” district

ITANAGAR, Dec 5:   All Yachuli Students’ Union (AYSU) has demanded the state government for the creation of a new  ‘Keyi-Panyor” district bifurcating from the existing Lower Subansiri district.

Speaking to the reporters at the Press Club today, President AYSU Baath Tolu said that the existing Lower Subansiri district consisting of Nyishi and Apatani settled, and the two community has been living in peace and harmony for years now.

However, Ziro is the headquarter of Lower Subansiri District is well developed with most of the administrative infrastructures in the area which is occupied by the Apatani community depriving 16th Yachuli constituency areas of the Nyishi community.

“Therefore, we demand for Keyi-Panyor as a new district for the development of the Nyishi community and its area,” he said.

He informed that even the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has raised this matter and submitted all required documents for the process of Keyi-Panyor district bifurcation with the state government. Unfortunately, it seems that all documents are stored in cold storage as the state government has not addressed on the matter till date.

“It was known through some sources that the bifurcation of Keyi Panyor district was supposed to be announced on the occasion of ‘Celebration for 50 years of Arunachal Pradesh’ at Ziro in January last, but it had not made any such announcement,” he said.

He also said that the union still believes the state government will address the demand as the Chief Minister Pema Khandu himself had assured to look into the matter during his visit to Yazali for Nyokum celebration.

He also appealed the two MLAs of the constituency to work in favour of the district people by discussing the matter in the state assembly session

AYSU has approached the All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) seeking help as the state government has never addressed the issue even after the submission of several representations.

“The union will go for democratic movements if the state government fails to address its demand,” he informed.
