MUNLI/ROING, Sept 1: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, during his visit to the 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project (DMP) site at Munli, Lower Dibang valley stated that Arunachal Pradesh is set to receive nearly ₹700 crore every year in free power from the project once completed.

CM Khandu in his social media site asserted that, “This project is not just about electricity, it’s about jobs for our youth, funds for local development, and new opportunities in tourism and business. It’s about ensuring that the people of Dibang and across Arunachal feel the impact of growth in their daily lives.”

The Chief Minister, accompanied by NHPC Ltd CMD Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, inspected the progress and interacted with engineers, workers, and technicians engaged in building what will be one of the largest hydropower projects in the country. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the project’s timely completion by 2032.

Among others, BJP State President Kaling Moyong, Minister Smt Dasanglu Pul, and MLAs Mutchu Mithi, Puinnyo Apum, and Oni Panyang, also accompanied the CM during the visit.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of 2,880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Hydropower Project of NHPC Limited in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, at a Viksit Bharat Viksit North East Program in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on March 9, 2024.
