Minister Mama Natung attends conference by Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt. of India

Shri Mama Natung, Minister of Public Health Engineering & Water Supply (PHE & WS) attended the round table conference and dialogue exchange convened by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt. of India at the Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and placed needs of State sanitation programme. The meeting was chaired by Shri C. R Patil, Union Minister of Jal Shakti in its final year of implementation to review the performance of the states and UTs. It is worth mentioning here that Swatch Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G) 2.0 is going to be concluded in this financial year and the next phase, SBM 3.0 will start soon from the next financial year.

The Union Minister took review of the performance of the states and UTs and asked all the state & UTs to achieve the targets before end of SBM-2.0. The state and UTs participating in the meeting suggested specific needs of their respective states. Shri Mama Natung suggested review of the convergence of 30 % Fifteen Financial Commission (FFC) with SBM, enhancing the 1 % administrative cost for a hilly state of Arunachal Pradesh, enhancing the IEC fund from existing 3 % , enhancing the rate of solid & liquid management as well as plastic management.

Bidol Tayeng, IAS Commissioner PHED and Er. S Yoncha, Chief Engineer (Sanitation) attended the conference along with the state PHE & WS Minister.(DIPRO)
