LIKABALI, Sept 16: The Deputy Commissioner of Lower Siang, Rujjum Rakshap, who also serves as the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, convened a coordination meeting today at the DC Conference Hall in Likabali. The meeting was attended by Heads of Departments (HoDs), officials, staff, and stakeholders to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming State Level Mock Exercise on Earthquake, Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF), and Landslide scenarios.
The mock drill is scheduled to take place on 18th September 2025 in Likabali Township. The objective of the exercise is to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure coordinated response mechanisms in case of emergencies.
During the briefing, DC Rakshap issued an official advisory to the general public, urging them not to panic during the exercise. He clarified that the event is purely a drill and does not pose any real danger. He further instructed all residents to actively participate by performing the safety action ‘Drop–Cover–Hold’ at their respective locations when the drill is announced.
