SEIJOSA, Apr 9: Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that within a month or two the government is planning to hold a Cabinet meeting at Vijayanagar in Changlang district.
Responding to a question on the Miao-Vijaynagar road, Khandu informed that due to the early arrival of the monsoon this year, the pace of work has been affected, however, the work is still going on and a couple of bridges are pending which will be launched by May next.
The chief minister informed that 80% of the road is under Namdapha National Park due to which blacktopping will not be done as per the norms. However, blacktopping on the rest of the road will be completed by September next as during monsoon it will not be possible, he said.
“Recently deputy chief minister Chowma Main also visited the place and reviewed the project and informed that the road has been made through but few bridges between Gandhigram to Vijaynagar will be completed within few months,” stated CM.
When asked about the absence of government staff, Khandu stated that very soon or in a month or two, the government will hold its cabinet meeting in Vijaynagar. With a holistic approach to development, the cabinet will conduct meetings with villagers, and panchayat leaders and surely announce development packages for Vijaynagar.
Speaking on another much-awaited road project in Tali, Kurung Kumey District, the CM informed that due to the collapse of the bridge the project has been delayed. However by the end of this year, we will connect Tali by road, he added.
